CMS Studying Whether Medicare Should
Cover PGx-Guided Warfarin Dosing Tests

Facing a “paucity” of clinical evidence supporting the belief that pharmacogenomic testing in warfarin dosing yields positive health outcomes, CMS earlier this month initiated a National Coverage Analysis to determine if it “is reasonable and necessary” to pay for the technology under the national health-insurance program that covers the elderly.
